Clients often ask us to give a listing of all the clients we work with in particular areas of the country in addition to references before we get started working together. This blog article highlights a few of the organizations in DC that we work with and gives a short case study of a few of them. We are proud to say we’ve worked with an array of nonprofits in the Washington dc area and are always looking to expand our array of services for niche organizations. Below are three of our DC non profit web design projects:
The Mid-Atlantic Off-Road Enthusiasts (MORE): MORE is an awesome group of individuals who get together each week and bike (off-roading) around the DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia areas. MORE is a membership based organized that needed assistance getting their website up to speed and membership systems under control. They used to be on vBulletin to manage their membership AND website management. My analogy of this is “trying to hit a square peg into the round hole”…it just doesn’t work.
As a fellow outdoors and athletic enthusiast (I was a rower in college and now participate in triathlons) I am super excited to work on this project. We are placing MORE on Drupal and will integrate CiviCRM to manage their membership signups and renewals. We’ll also be creating a mobile website design and implementation into Drupal for MORE as well.
The Association of Military Comptrollers (ASMC): We built a huge awards management system for ASMC from the ground up. This was way back when NonprofitCMS strictly focused custom software development. As ASMC grew, so did we. We have redesigned and reorganized their massive website and currently manage their IT systems. ASMC is on WordPress (using dozens of off the shelf and customized plugins) and manages their membership using iMIS.
The Foundation for Due Process of Law (DPLF): DPLF is one of NonprofitCMS’ latest and greatest clients. Their main challenge is that their Content Management System was developed in-house and is “buggy”. Their web developer was not able to keep up with constantly changing demands of a growing and international nonprofit like DPLF. Our solutions? Drupal and more specifically Drupal Multi-Language will be the chosen platform of choice. This will allow them to easily input content into multiple languages without the headache of trying to figure out where each piece of the puzzle will be organized. In addition we’ll be performing a big analysis and web design process for them. DPLF is located in downtown DC (just a few blocks from us!)
WordPress Design and Development
WordPress is a powerful and easy to use Content Management System for nonprofits that allow users to easily add/edit/delete pages on their websites. There are also modules and widgets for event registration, calendars, membership management and basically anything else you can think of. For the following nonprofits we’ve designed and implemented the CMS WordPress to power their web presence:
- FBI Intelligence Analysts Association (FBI IAA)
- Best Kids
- FamilyPASS
- MillerOil Foundation
- Coastal States
- Divine Mercy
- IONAConversations
Sitefinity Development
Sitefinity is the “cadillac” of Content Management Systems not only for non profits, but for the general public as well. Sitefinity is truly “point and click” and lets the least tech savy of individuals quickly become content administration experts
- Democracy Coalition (DemCoalition)
Drupal Web design and development
- JASS (Just Associates)
- MORE
- DPLF
Joomla Web design and development
- Public Interest Intellectual Property Advisors (PIIPA)

- Association for Public Policy Analysis & Management (APPAM)
- National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA)
- National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC)
