The California Coalition Against Sexual Assault (CALCASA) approached NonprofitCMS in the middle of 2011 in the hopes of redesigning their current website. Their biggest frustration was that their current site was difficult to navigate and was pressing WordPress to it’s limits. Together CALCASA and NonprofitCMS sifted through over 1500 articles, pages and blog posts on their current site and came up with a new, more intuitive way or tagging and organizing their information. In addition to the information architecture (IA) part of the project, we developed over 15 wireframes to best present the information. To the left are just a few of them.
CALCASA did not have a firm branding/sytle guide that we were to follow, rather, had colors that they had to avoid given the nature of their association. NonprofitCMS and CALCASA went through a few rounds of revisions and settled on the gentle yet modern new presented to the left.
This project involved a massive content migration from their old WordPress CMS to Drupal. In addition we created a mobile version of the website, enewsletter design, CiviCRM implementation for donations and membership renewals and a custom script to read in / parse blog postings from one of their other WordPress sites.
